About Me.

I come to the practice of criminal law with a background that blends

academic achievement, teaching experience, and a deep commitment to

fairness and justice. Before becoming a lawyer, I worked as a high school

law teacher, which instilled in me a passion for empowering others through

knowledge and advocacy.

I hold a Master's degree (LLM) from Queen’s University (2024), an LLB from

the University of Leicester (2022), and a BA/B.Ed from the University of

Winnipeg (2008). After completing my National Committee on Accreditation

(NCA) requirements in 2024, I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025. Throughout my studies, I explored issues at the intersection of law, justice, and social policy—writing on topics such as the constitutional challenges to section 33.1 of the Criminal Code, the admissibility of rap lyrics in criminal trials, and the evolution of the common law rule of forfeiture, along with broader work on social justice issues including oppression in the education system, access to justice, and the rights of common-law spouses.

As a lawyer, I believe that everyone deserves competent legal representation and a fair process. I am dedicated to upholding high standards of accountability within the justice system and to protecting your rights under the Charter. My approach is grounded in compassion, professionalism, and determination—I will stand as your advocate and ensure your voice is heard.

I accept legal aid certificates as well as provincial and municipal offence matters, and I proudly serve clients in Kingston and the surrounding areas, including Napanee, Belleville, Brockville, Perth, Picton, Ottawa, and Toronto.
